The 110's in Hawaii pre-date the attack on Pearl Harbor as 4 boats were brought here in 1940 by construction magnet Harold Dillingham. These boat were on trailers at Hickam Harbor (just outside of Pearl) when the attack occured. The fleet was oficially chartered in June of 1943. At some point the 110's moved to Waikiki Yacht Club and grew to an 11 boat fleet. Around 1960, the fleet moved to Kaneohe Yacht Club on Kaneohe Bay on the windward side of Oahu. Near death in the 70's the fleet returned to activity in 1980 when Brett returned from college and bought his first 110. Again in the mid 90's the fleet went dormant until 2008 where it is now experiencing a complete restoration of the 4 remaining boats. Once racing, the fleet will reclaim it's place as the oldest active fleet in Hawaii. Stay tuned.....
